Four fluted alabaster pillars flank the doorway of this elegant store. From
somewhere in the ceiling, a smooth sheet of water flows down the black marble
rear wall, the better to reflect the customers in their finery. You also
see an Important Sign, a velvet-draped table with some stuff on it, a
velvet-lined case with some stuff on it, a jewelry tray with some stuff on
it, a narrow sideboard with some stuff on it, a red velvet couch and a glass
counter with some stuff on it.

Cool air circulates through this roomy grotto. Except for a few large rocks
strewn about the area, the space is undecorated. Whale bones, however, hang
against the wall, waiting to display some of the Merelew's more engaging
fashions for the land-locked. You also see an orange coral ledge with some
stuff on it, a black coral ledge with some stuff on it, a white coral ledge
with some stuff on it and a red coral ledge with some stuff on it.

Upon the roiling knots of the wood, the artist has managed to capture the
tumult of a sailing ship caught in the throes of a great storm. It is no
small accident that a dark burl has been left upon the bow of the ship --
it represents a hole in the hull. No doubt the artist has seen many such
broken craft at the bottom of the seas.

A school of dolphins arch gracefully above a foaming surf, caught in mid-flight
over the surface of the sea. Such is the detail of the sculpture that tiny

Her long hair flows across her shoulders and down her back, turning into

Several species of fish cavort happily about a coral reef dotted with sea
anemones. An eel peeks out from a thin crevice, and a large octopus rests

[Andreshlew, Guardhouse] (a small crescent-shaped building made of translucent white crystal)
Amid the warm glow of brass oil dish lamps, several gray-scaled guards in
green uniforms inspect dossiers and polish and sharpen their weapons. Maces
and scimitars line the walls, along with multi-colored decorations for heroism.
A few also write reports, inspect cabinets for merchandise, and study a roster
on the wall. A Merelew guard captain looks on quietly, taking in all the
activity without comment.

[Crystal Tunnel, Entrance] (a side passage)
Just within the entrance, a diffused light filters through the quartz walls
to bathe the tunnel in a subdued glow. The path slopes down from here, bending
out of sight after a short distance. A muted roar of rushing water echoes
about the passage.
Obvious exits: northeast, out.
