The Distant Past... The Not So Distant Past... The Recent Past... I must like him more than he likes me because I moved away from the Land of Milk and Honey to be with him. He’d probably take this opportunity to remind that it was my idea We met on the Internet. I was happy where I was, He was happy where he was. We were long distance friends for two years. Then the crush happened. We decided to meet, we decided I should come live with him. I drove across the country in a station wagon stuffed to the top with the remnants of my previous life. Everyone should drive across the country at least once. We lived in a house in Rockville that we shared with three other people. This was a very interesting time. All of us were bartenders/servers at various restaurants. One of us was from Belfast, one from Buffalo, one from Boston, one from Baltimore and then there was me. M and I shared the smallest room in the house, we worked at the same restaurant, and when we went out we went together. Amazingly, we didn't get sick of each other after all that. After nearly a year of living in such close quarters we moved into our own apartment. That's where we are now, and that's pretty much where the journal takes over. |
